Dr. Charles J. Burgess cburgess@communityeye.com  Dr. Burgess grew up in Kimberly, Wisconsin. After graduating from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1997, Dr. Burgess started working for Dale Tetrault, O.D. at his practice in Menasha. Dr. Burgess purchased Dr. Tetrault's practice in 1998 and renewed the practice Community Eyecare, Inc. Dr. Burgess practices full scope family optometry. Along with general family eye care, he specializes in low vision, difficult contact lens fits, and medical management of glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, and macular degeneration. Golf, fishing, chasing his two children around are a few of his hobbies. Along with his wife, Julie, they enjoy many outdoor activities. Dr. Burgess and his family are also very active in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Dr. Burgess and his son are type I diabetics, and diabetes management is a passion of his. Annette J. Wilde, OD joined Community Eyecare in 2004 and very much enjoys private practice. "It gives me the opportunity to provide the best possible eye care. We have the latest in diagnostic equipment and a relaxed environment for eye exams." After receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry, she couldn't wait to return home to Wisconsin. "I'm originally from the Fox Valley area and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. My family is here." Growing up with three brothers made her a bit of a tom-boy. Besides playing sports such as volleyball and tennis, she loves to travel across the country, seeing as many national parks as possible. She also enjoys spending time with her pets. Dr. Wilde has a special affection for children. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and taught in western Minnesota. She knows what vision is necessary for children to do well in school. "The gift of sight is precious.
